Nervous Insomnia

AHHHH! I should be sound asleep right now, letting my brain get some rest so I will be raring to go in a few hours. But no, I am sitting in bed wide awake. I will be taking my last teaching test in the morning and so when all goes well, I will have everything completed to get my standard teaching certificate in TX! Woo Hoo!

It is depressing to me that it is July already. I have been mopey about it for 2 days. When I am at the scrapbook store I want to stay there...not worry about getting ready for school!!!! It really is an inner battle with me. I love doing both things dearly and have been blessed with gifts in both areas. I guess for now I am going to change the mopey attitude to an excited one. I still have a month at By Design to play and plan and make kits and we have a retreat in August. That will be a great way to end the summer.

Missing this girl like crazy...Haven't seen my sister in a while and I am in desperate need of a crafty sister day! Won't you just move to TX already???

Ok, I am going to attempt some sleep...I will have to post later with all the pages I have been doing.!!!! Mainly for my dear friend Missy who may never speak to me again if I don't hurry up and get her scrapbooking done and caught up ;) HAHA! More on that later.

Boy it is hot!

Thank gosh for being able to stay in and scrapbook! It has been very nice to get some kits and layouts and make n takes done for the store. By Design will be hopping this weekend for a big birthday celebration! I can't believe it is almost July. Ugh! Really? Does summer always go by this fast for teachers? It has me a little depressed. I will enjoy it while it lasts, none the less!

Here are some recent projects and pages that I needed to post. Happy Summer!

The canvas was such a fun project! I decided that after making this one for the designer wall at By Design, that I want to make 6 8x10 canvases to hang above my couch!

Fun projects for the summer

I have just been itching to get some decorating done around my apartment. after all, I've lived here for around 10 months. It's about time! So while my mom was here this week she helped me start to hang my plate wall. I was so inspired by an altered dinner plate at the Jenni Bowlin booth at CHA that I thought I'd try it. I found most of the plates on the wall at Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie and of course ...Good Will. I was so proud. I did not pay more than $1.99 for any of them. I altered 2 so far, and plan on adding to the collection. I found a sweet baby one at an antique shope in Houston this weekend. Not sure if they should be closer together....
Heading to By Design now for a class. :)

This makes it all worth it!

As I was cleaning out my kids writing folders yesterday...I came across this and almost started crying. How sweet! The last line is the best..." I love her bigger than the world." WOW! Touching kids is what it is all about!

October...Really?

So Tracy pointed out to me that it has been since October since I posted! OMG! How terrible am I! That is what you get when you don't have a life anymore. HEHE!

So, I have been scrapping some in between all the school chaos and I keep forgetting to take pics of the layouts before I bring them to the store. I promise I will do better!

It's been a whirl wind. Kindergarten is life consuming. Enough said. I miss the store and all the awesome people there terribly. It still makes me sad not to be there everyday unpacking boxes and planning fun things :( BUT....I do love the kids! Teaching is alot of fun! You guys should see the things they can do! WOW!

I did play hookie for 2 days and went to the big CHA show in Anaheim, CA. (One of my favorite things in the world to do!)

WOW! We took alot of time to search out the newest, different, unique products we could find. I enjoy little findings and such to really make a page special. Some of the things I am so excited about I could burst!!! Of course, all 4 of us who went were ribbon lovers and YOU WILL BE ABLE TO TELL THAT when the 200 plus rolls of ribbon we ordered roll on in. Seriously! We went ribbon crazy. The Glitter ribbon was awesome....breathtaking really! Donna Downey's Prima line....WOW! The new Glitz is super fun too! Love the ne Glitzer stickers and will hopefully be able to post new layouts here soon.

Glitz also has a 10 minute projects blog that is cool! Check it out...this is a quick page I did for the site.

I need to take some more of the ones at the store...but you can see them all at By Design. Tracy still lets me play when I can! lol!
Hugs,

Taking a moment

Well, I have been absolutely crazy busy with school. School ...always something to do for school. Hehe! Been getting situated in my new apartment. Worked at the store while we were waiting to go back to school after the hurricaine and we planned an event coming up on the 25th where I will be doing a make n take. Like old times! YAY
I wanted to post these layouts. Did these a while back but hadn't posted yet.

Keep your fingers crossed!

I am in Houston at my dad's house right now. My apartment's zip code was one with a mandatory evacuation. I was supposed to be moving in to my new apartment today. HA! So right now I am hoping that the school and my new apartment are going to be ok. They are in League City , and are 4 miles from Kemah (which is on Galveston Bay) . So needless to say, everything except my scrap room is packed and ready for the move. I brought all my pages and albums with me, of course. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who lives in Galveston and my friends in South Houston who also had to evacuate.

I hope to update again soon!

More layouts...I'm cathchin up on posting!

It's been like Christmas at the store this week! Tons of boxes of new goodies just begging me to play with them. Of course, I haven't had a minute to think about scrapbooking. I must have been to the two teachers supply stores in my area 10 times this week. Every time I think I have everything I "need", I think of more. I just keep telling myself, "Next year will be better & a lot less expensive. At least when it comes to setting the room up."

So, this weekend, I am having a pre-birthday celebration! Even though my birthday isn't until the 15th, I am going to celebrate with all my fam and friends in BR. I am so excited to go eat at the new Zea's in Baton Rouge....This place is sooooooo yummy. I used to go all the time when I lived in Metairie. So between Zea's, an Ambrosia Fresh Strawberry Cake, and a night out dancing hopefully the stress of life right now will disipate and I will be able to just be for a bit. Just have fun without the stress and emotional rollercoaster I have been riding the past couple weeks. So, here's to turning 25 and going into a new career with a bang!

I will leave you with some more Glitz layouts! I did these a while ago but hadn't posted yet.

Have a great Weekend,

~J
